Daily entrance fees are $14 per diver, $10 per nondiver. Certified scuba instructors with a valid c-card are admitted free, as are nondiving kids under age 12. A camp-and-dive package is priced at $30 per diver and includes two days of diving, one night dive and a campsite.

Things to see:

Features six sunken vessels, from an 18-foot (5.5-m) runabout to a 45-foot (14-m) Chris Craft as well as several small train locomotives, a truck and a motorcycle. Most underwater sites connected by shielded cable and marked by surface buoys. Two dive entrances and more than 200 feet of floating dock interlaced throughout the quarry, divers can literally walk on water as they make their way to the dive site of their choice.

Diving Hours: Open weekends from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. March 1 to November 30. Year-round diving is offered to groups of 10 or more, with reservations. Night diving is available by appointment.

A large pavilion doubles as an open-air classroom. Parking areas are near the shore, making it easy to gear up without having to walk far to the entry area. Certification classes are offered and overnight camping is available.

Delta's Peach Bottom Inn, (717) 456-9831, offers rooms at reasonable rates. Delta also has several modestly priced family restaurants to choose from.


Guppy Gulch staffers are trained in first aid and the Delta Volunteer Fire Department is less than 2 miles (3 km) away, should the need for emergency medical service arise
