Things to see:

This is one of the best places in Central Texas to dive. "Spring Lake" is the headwaters of the San Marcos River. All of the water comes from the Edward's Aquifer and is crystal clear. In some places, the water exceeds the EPA quality for drinking water. Too good to be true you say? Well there is one catch. You have to take the "Scientific Diver" course to be able to dive here. The course is outlined on the website provided. For a local diver it's a pretty good deal. The entire lake complex is owned by Texas State University and with that comes everything you might think would come with a University owning it.

I would suggest either bringing your own tank, or renting from the local dive shop. The compressor at the lake only fills to 2000 psi. However, that's about all you need in this lake. It's only 27 ft. deep at one point. Average depth is probably 18 ft. You can make a single dive on a HP Steel 80 at 3400 psi for almost 90 min.

Check out the website and click on "Diving for Science" for more info.
